Residents who live or work in Wood County have until Oct. 31 to take a community health survey that will help set local health priorities.

The 2026 Community Health Assessment survey, created by the Wood County Health Department and Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids for Healthy People Wood County, asks people to share their experiences, priorities and concerns about what affects health in the county.

Kristie Egge, supervisor of strategic initiatives at the Wood County Health Department, called the survey one of the most important tools for understanding the community's health needs and said hearing directly from residents helps officials make decisions that reflect community priorities.

Responses are anonymous and the survey takes about 10 minutes. It is available online in English or Spanish, and people who complete it can enter to win one of three $50 Visa gift cards.

Paper copies can be returned at locations including the Wood County River Block Building and McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids, Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library in Marshfield, and libraries in Pittsville, Arpin, Vesper and Nekoosa, as well as ADRC of Central Wisconsin offices and St. Vincent de Paul in Marshfield. Questions can go to the Wood County Health Department at 715-421-8911.
