UW-La Crosse closed its home regular season Monday night with a 9-0 win over Concordia Wisconsin at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

The Eagles improved to 17-1 overall, while Concordia Wisconsin fell to 8-10. Eleven UWL players recorded a point and seven different players scored a goal.

Macy Evans opened the scoring at 10:05 with the eventual game-winning goal. Riley Veenendaal made it 2-0, and Aubree Caya scored twice before halftime to give UWL a 4-0 lead.

UWL added five more goals after the break, with Ella Opie, Amaya Thesing, Audrey Wanless and two goals from Erelyn Apel completing the scoring. The Eagles finished with a season-high 46 shots, including 26 on goal, and recorded their 13th shutout of the season behind Summer Nicolai, Jordyn Young and Kayda Aeby in goal.

The win kept UWL unbeaten at home at 10-0 this season. The Eagles had already clinched at least a share of the WIAC regular-season title on Oct. 24, their fifth straight conference championship and ninth in school history.

UWL can secure the conference title outright with a win or tie at UW-Whitewater on Saturday, Oct. 31, when the Eagles close the regular season at 5 p.m.
