A 19-year-old driver has been convicted in a Shawano County crash that killed a 14-year-old passenger and injured a 15-year-old.
Collyn Jorgenson pleaded no contest Monday to three counts stemming from the June 19, 2025, crash in the town of Seneca: first-degree reckless homicide, homicide by use of a motor vehicle while using a controlled substance, and injury by use of a motor vehicle while using a controlled substance. Five other counts were dismissed.
District Attorney Greg Parker said at an earlier hearing that Jorgenson's speed reached 120 mph at times before the crash and was about 101 mph at impact. Parker said Jorgenson lost control, struck a rock and went airborne for more than 100 feet before landing on the roof.
Parker also said Jorgenson initially claimed someone else had been driving.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21.
