A new stage for the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield began on Oct. 13, when club members took the first swings and broke into the walls of the building that will become the club's permanent home.
Having young members start the work was chosen to reflect the club's mission, with their energy showing what the project is meant to create for Marshfield youth.
The $8 million result was made possible by a capital campaign supported by more than 150 donors, leaders and friends.
The project will turn the building into a place where young people can learn, grow, build relationships and discover their potential for years to come.
Club leaders said they are grateful for the community's investment and plan to share construction milestones as the walls come down and the new home takes shape.
