Mayor David Bogdala has appointed Giacomino Ruffolo to Kenosha's Police and Fire Commission, Kenosha County Eye reported on Nov. 1.
Ruffolo is 48 and lives in Kenosha. The report described him as a close friend of Bogdala who works as a used car salesman.
The commission holds authority over hiring, promotion, discipline and firing decisions for both the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha Fire Department.
Kenosha is in the process of choosing its next police chief. As a commission member, Ruffolo will take part in that selection, a choice the report noted could affect the department for many years.
