South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn traveled to Wisconsin to campaign alongside David Crowley, the Democratic nominee for governor, on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Clyburn was set to help launch canvasses and take part in get-out-the-vote events that day, with stops planned in Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha. No further details were released when the visit was announced.
The Congressional Black Caucus PAC backed Crowley during the primary, when he faced Francesca Hong, and Clyburn's appearance came in the closing days before the election.
Clyburn, 86, has held senior leadership roles in the U.S. House and is widely known for his work on voting rights and civil rights.
Crowley is trying to become the first Black governor in Wisconsin history. Early voting was already under way in the state, with Election Day set for Tuesday, Nov. 3.
