A Marshfield woman was sentenced Friday in Wood County Court after pleading no contest to five counts of theft in a business setting, with several other charges dismissed and read in.
Jennifer M. Lueck received a withheld sentence and three years of probation. She must pay restitution and have no contact with the victims, described in the case as the agencies she stole from.
Lueck had faced eight felony and 24 misdemeanor charges in Wood and Marathon counties after officials investigated thefts tied to two Marshfield care-providing businesses, Gateway Counseling and Clarity Care.
According to the Wood County criminal complaint, Lueck worked as an office manager with access to company checkbooks, and investigators examined a company payment of $1,062.98 that went toward her rent in October 2024.
The Marathon County complaint said Lueck embezzled $247.76 from Clarity Care and a total of $2,691.11 from 13 at-risk clients, with investigators reviewing purchases and withdrawals made for clients who could not shop for themselves.
