Seven months after a fire at its Larsen Road facility, Green Bay Converting says cleanup is finished, production is returning in phases and a replacement warehouse is under construction.
The fire began shortly before 8 a.m. on March 16, for reasons that remain unknown, and burned for several days amid high winds and heavy snow from Blizzard Elsa. The company said cleaning and remediation of production equipment and the facility were completed in June.
Since July, the company has been phasing production back in, a restart it expects to continue through the end of the year. It said operating without an adjacent warehouse has made production considerably more complex.
Work on the replacement warehouse is underway, with the foundation poured. The company said the new building will have a comparable footprint to the one lost in the fire, and construction is expected to be complete in the second half of 2027.
The company said it remains committed to Green Bay and aims to return to production and employment levels above where it was at the time of the fire, and it thanked fire departments, local partners and the community for their support.
