Finding Eden Rescue, a new nonprofit in Eau Claire, focuses on at-risk animals, including dogs and cats taken off euthanasia lists at crowded shelters.

Founder Peyton Olsen, trained as an oncology nurse, formed the organization in October 2025. It secured nonprofit status and a state license and took in its first animal in April 2026. As of mid-October, it had adopted out 71 animals, mostly dogs and cats, and works with 41 foster homes.

Recent arrivals included two dogs, Mabel and Tiny Tim, pulled from a Houston shelter's euthanasia list, given veterinary care and travel clearance in Texas, and transported to foster care in Wisconsin. The rescue also took in 16 beagles from the recently closed Ridglan Farm facility near Madison, all of which have been adopted, according to the organization.

Olsen has acquired 40 acres on the south side of Eau Claire for a future permanent home, with building plans drawn up pending fundraising. The rescue is currently a recipient of a community pump program at a local gas station, earning a share of sales from one pump for five months.
