Modine announced the leadership changes on Nov. 5 in Racine. Mahan's appointment took effect Nov. 2, and Furlong's promotion takes effect Nov. 15.

President and CEO Neil D. Brinker said both men know the company's growth goals and its 80/20 operating model well, and pointed to their experience reshaping businesses and running disciplined operations as the company pursues demand for its thermal management technology.

Mahan joined Modine earlier this year to lead the Commercial HVAC segment. He brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience, including large profit-and-loss roles at Crane Payment Innovations, Schneider Electric and former GE companies. As president of Crane Payment Innovations, he brought several commercial units together into fully formed businesses, and at Schneider Electric he ran multi-billion-dollar global operations and set strategy for emerging markets that included data centers.

Furlong joined Modine in 2023 to oversee global corporate strategy, business optimization and development, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. The company acquired six businesses in two years under his leadership and sold off underperforming assets. He served as interim president of the Performance Technologies segment in 2025 and has spent the past year leading work to spin that segment off. Before Modine, he held global leadership roles in sales, marketing, engineering and product development at Quadion LLC, IDEX and Pentair.

Founded more than 100 years ago, Modine is headquartered in Racine and employs more than 9,000 people worldwide, with operations in North America, Europe and Asia. The company makes heating, cooling and ventilation systems aimed at improving air quality and reducing energy and water use.
