KTEC Schools of Innovation are celebrating a string of honors this fall as they open a new unified campus for grades 4K through 12 in Kenosha.

In the 2026 Kenosha News Best of Kenosha County Awards, KTEC was named Best Public Elementary School, and Cory Tussler was named Best Teacher. The school also took Hometown Favorite honors for Best Middle School and Best High School, and Stephanie Ziemba was a Hometown Favorite for Best Teacher.

The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce gave the school a Beautification Award at its 110th annual meeting, recognizing the work at the new campus at 1901 63rd Street. Principal Karre Feuker accepted the award. The 56,000-square-foot campus represents a $17 million investment and was converted from a former grocery store into a school with specialized labs and technology-rich learning spaces.

KTEC also received a $7,500 Financial Literacy Innovation Grant through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. The school says the money will support curriculum development, teacher training and real-world learning such as guest speakers, field trips and simulations covering loans, interest, taxes and financial decisions.

The school partners with local employers and colleges, including Snap-on and Gateway Technical College, on career-connected learning in STEM, skilled trades and technology, with chances for students to earn college credits and industry certifications.
