A Kenosha man's February arrest is now the subject of a federal lawsuit. Jamaal Oliver Lambert, 46, pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer following a confrontation with Kenosha Police on Feb. 23, 2026.
In the suit, filed against the City of Kenosha and five officers, Lambert alleges excessive force and an unlawful search. He claims officers unnecessarily used Tasers and a police K-9 against him and that the arrest caused him serious injuries.
Body-worn camera footage reviewed in the report presents a contested encounter. The footage captures officers repeatedly ordering Lambert to comply during the arrest, while he repeatedly refuses.
The claims in the lawsuit are allegations, and the footage is expected to be central to how the case is argued, since it records the orders officers gave and Lambert's responses during the Feb. 23 confrontation.
