The city of Kenosha's 2026 Christmas tree arrived downtown on Tuesday and was placed at Veterans Memorial Park along the lakefront.
The Colorado blue spruce stands 34 feet tall and weighs about 5,500 pounds. It was donated by Kenosha Bible Church, located at 5405 67th St.
Crews from the city Parks Department, helped by the Kenosha Water Utility, cut the tree and loaded it onto a trailer. Kenosha police escorted it through city streets to the park at 5220 Sixth Ave., where workers used a crane and arborists helped guide it into place.
Kenosha Bible Church Senior Pastor Bill Culbertson said the church was glad the tree will bring joy to many people. Mayor David Bogdala thanked the church and the city departments that worked together on the move.
The tree will be decorated with thousands of lights for the annual Lightin' Up celebration on Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. The event is organized by the city with the Lakeshore Business Improvement District, Visit Kenosha and community sponsors.
