Eau Claire has a new large-scale mural on Water Street celebrating the city's status as home of the U.S. National Kubb Championship.

The mural measures 33 feet wide by 15 feet tall. It was ideated by the U.S. National Kubb Championship and designed and painted by Menomonie-based artist Jenna Wood of Wood Creative LLC.

It is the second mural to go up on Water Street this year, located across from Wood's Milwaukee Brewers City Connect "Wisco Way" mural on the east-facing wall of The Pickle at 341 Water St., which was unveiled in July 2026.

Championship founder and director Eric Anderson said organizers had wanted a kubb mural for the past couple of years to celebrate the local kubb community. The first championship was held in Eau Claire in 2007, and the 20th championship is scheduled for 2027.

Wood included blue and green with pops of yellow and orange, a sun, and flowers as a nod to Swedish folk art, reflecting kubb's Swedish origins. Visit Eau Claire helped secure the location, and Wood's family helped with painting and setup.
