Green Bay-area children are heading into winter with warmer coats after the Salvation Army's annual Coats for Kids distribution.
The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay held the distribution on Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Kroc Center, at 1315 Lime Kiln Road.
Organizers said the community donated about 5,000 coats this year. Businesses and individuals also contributed money to support the effort.
The coats were collected during a drive that ran from Sept. 28 through Oct. 29, with new and gently used coats for children up to age 18 accepted at drop-off sites around the greater Green Bay area.
Families receiving coats were asked to register in advance for the distribution days.
