Winona State student-athletes will go door to door in Winona on Monday evening, Oct. 26, collecting food instead of candy during the annual Trick or Treat for Cans event.
The effort runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. that evening. Warriors will ask residents for non-perishable food items during the hour-long collection.
Donations gathered during the event will go to Winona Volunteer Services and to the Warrior Cupboard, which supports members of the campus community.
The event is organized by the Winona State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, known as SAAC, which coordinates the student-athlete participation each year.
Organizers thanked residents in advance for opening their doors and helping support fellow community members through the donations.
