Three people are being held in the Door County Jail in connection with what investigators describe as a large-scale theft and money laundering operation tied to fuel delivery that ran for about a decade.

Thomas Kaczmarek, Jean Kaczmarek and Justin Kaczmarek appeared in Door County court on Friday. Cash bonds were set at $25,000 for Thomas, $5,000 for Jean and $10,000 for Justin.

Investigators say they have identified 14 victims, with an estimated combined loss of about $1.8 million.

Four search warrants and three seizure warrants were carried out on Thursday in the town of Nasewaupee in Door County and the town of Pembine in Marinette County.

Formal charges had not been filed as of Friday, and the investigation is continuing. The Door County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who paid Thomas, Jean or Justin Kaczmarek directly by cash or check for fuel delivery to contact Investigator Jon Gilson at (920) 746-2555.
