Officers were sent to an apartment complex in the 900 block of Rise Lane around 12:50 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.
Police say several people were standing around a vehicle when a second vehicle carrying several people drove through the parking lot and multiple shots were fired toward the group.
Two vehicles and an apartment building were damaged. Police say a bullet passed within inches of a woman who was sitting inside one of the damaged vehicles.
One person later told police they had suffered a graze wound.
The vehicle police were looking for was gone when officers arrived. Police say it was later stopped in Maple Bluff, and 18-year-old Omar A. Fields was arrested for first-degree recklessly endangering safety and taken to the Dane County Jail.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
