The Wood County Parks and Forestry Department says the campgrounds at South Wood County Park and North Wood County Park will close for the season on Saturday, Oct. 31, at noon.
Wood County Cera Park is already closed for the season. Campers have one later option: Dexter County Park will remain open until Nov. 30, with its second and third loops available by reservation only.
At Dexter, dump stations and drinking water will depend on the weather, and the park's heated shower building will stay open until the campground closes.
Several shelters remain available to rent through the winter, including the ATV Enclosed Shelter, the Nepco Enclosed Shelter, the South Park Community Shelter and the Powers Bluff Welcome Center.
The department thanked everyone who camped and visited the county parks this season. Camping and shelter reservations can be made up to a year in advance through the county's reservation website, and notices on groomed winter trails and the Powers Bluff winter sports area are still to come.
