Mark Baden, chief meteorologist at WISN-TV Channel 12 in Milwaukee, said on social media that he had a heart attack on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Baden, 56, said doctors found a major blockage in his largest artery. He said he sought care after sensing something was wrong.

He described the day as frightening, thanked the doctors and nurses caring for him, and said his prognosis is good. He shared the update from his hospital bed.

Baden has worked at WISN since 1997 and leads the station's weather team. He also teaches a meteorology course at Concordia University in Mequon.

From the hospital, he also cheered on the Brewers as they played Game 4 of the NLCS against Los Angeles that day.
