Halloween comes to the mini golf course this weekend. Scouting America Troop 111 hosts its Mini Golf Halloween Spooktacular from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at White Sands Mini Golf, 5511 Wazeecha Ave. in Grand Rapids.
Mini golf costs $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12, and children 4 and younger play free. More information is available through White Sands Ice Cream & Mini Golf on Facebook.
The Wisconsin Rapids Elks Lodge No. 693 hosts a free Nightmare Before Christmas Party from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 430 W. Jackson St. in Wisconsin Rapids. The community event includes face painting, cookie decorating, bracelet making, games, prizes and music.
Also on Saturday night, the Miss Wisconsin Rapids Scholarship Organization crowns its 50th Miss Wisconsin Rapids at the Performing Arts Center, 1801 16th St. S. Eight contestants are competing for the Miss title and 13 for the Miss Wisconsin Rapids' Teen title, with the winners representing the area for the 2027 season.
Tickets for Saturday's competition are $20 and can be bought online in advance or at the Performing Arts Center ahead of the show. An open dress rehearsal is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, with $10 tickets available at the door.
