The UW-La Crosse women's soccer team opens its WIAC Tournament run at home on Thursday, Nov. 5, hosting UW-Oshkosh in a semifinal at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
UWL comes in as the tournament's top seed after winning the regular-season title with a 6-1 conference mark, and the Eagles earned a first-round bye. Oshkosh, the sixth seed at 9-6-4, advanced with a 2-1 win at UW-Whitewater on Tuesday, Nov. 3, scoring twice in the second half to come from behind.
The Eagles have already seen the Titans this season, winning 3-0 at home on Oct. 24 while holding Oshkosh to five shots on goal. UWL has won the last five meetings between the schools and leads the all-time series 25-12-3.
UWL is chasing a fifth straight WIAC Tournament championship and the eighth in school history. The Eagles have won seven tournament titles in all, including four in a row from 2022 through 2025, and they are looking for a 12th trip to the tournament title game.
Senior Aubree Caya leads UWL with 15 goals and 35 points, while goalkeeper Summer Nicolai is 18-1 with a 0.41 goals-against average and the Eagles have recorded 14 shutouts. In Thursday's other semifinal, second-seeded UW-Platteville hosts fourth-seeded UW-Eau Claire. The winners meet Saturday, Nov. 7, hosted by the highest remaining seed, and the tournament champion earns the WIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
