The Milwaukee Public Museum, at 800 W. Wells St., is marking the final months for two longtime favorites, the Streets of Old Milwaukee and the European Village, with special programming through Dec. 17.

Streets Alive! returns Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with docents in period clothing talking with visitors about life and work in earlier Milwaukee. Halloween decorations from the early 1900s will be on display in the Streets through Nov. 1.

Holiday decorations follow from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3, 2027. Evening Streets Alive! events for adults 21 and older are set for Dec. 10 and Dec. 17, and European Village Alive! is set for Dec. 12.

Free admission days in this period include Nov. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3. The museum said the Streets facades were built into the Wells Street building, which makes moving the full exhibit to the new site very difficult and costly.

The current museum stays open through Jan. 3, 2027. Its successor, at 1310 N. Sixth St., is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2027, with a new gallery described as a successor to the Streets.
