A manufacturer founded in 1972 is moving its operations from Kenosha to Pleasant Prairie, bringing 19 current employees with it.
Stainless Products makes stainless steel pumps, valves, fittings and other precision-machined parts. The Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission approved the company's site and operational plans on Monday, Oct. 19.
The company plans to occupy a building of about 81,000 square feet at 10790 Green Bay Road. Village officials said that approval was the final step needed for those plans to move forward.
Officials said more jobs are expected once work begins at the new site, but the company has not said how many added positions it plans to fill. Occupancy is targeted for sometime this fall.
Village officials did not disclose the company's current Kenosha address, why it is moving, or whether the Kenosha site will close. No specific opening date at the new building has been announced.
Pleasant Prairie has about 21,000 residents and sits between Milwaukee and Chicago. Village officials described the move as added growth for the local manufacturing sector.
