A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties, before sunshine returned across southeast Wisconsin.

The fog formed overnight as temperatures fell into the 40s and 50s, and it was expected to clear after sunrise on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday's forecast called for morning fog giving way to a sunny and beautiful afternoon, with a high of 64 and an east wind at 5 mph. Tuesday night was expected to be partly cloudy with patchy fog, a low of 45 near the lake and 40 inland, and calm winds.

The sunny pattern holds through the rest of the week, with a high of 68 on Wednesday and highs in the low to mid-60s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Longer-range trends show a cold front possibly dropping south over the weekend, which could bring a chance of a few showers on Saturday and cooler weather next week, though forecast models still disagree on the details.
