Joshua Todd Martin, 48, who owns Josh Martin Roofing, Inc., and his wife, Michelle Renee Martin, 46, were both arrested on Saturday evening, Oct. 17, after deputies went to their home in Somers for a well-being check.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office was sent at about 4:28 p.m. to the couple's five-acre property in the 8600 block of 7th Street. The home was described in the report as an estate valued at about $1 million.
A caller had told authorities that Joshua Martin had been physically abusing his wife and that the caller feared she could be killed that night. The caller also reported bruises that were said to have been caused when Martin struck his wife the day before.
Joshua Martin was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. Michelle Martin was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
The report notes that Joshua Martin's arrest history goes back more than 20 years and includes a previous domestic abuse conviction. The arrests described here are allegations, and the case is still developing.
