Racine Public Library has started dedicated social services hours with social worker Ashley Cedeño, who has worked at the library for five years.
The free, one-on-one sessions are open to anyone on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cedeño can connect visitors with housing assistance, food resources, mental health referrals, employment help, and free bus passes.
The library plans to improve the space for the program and hopes to add more hours and bring in community partners to meet with visitors.
