The City of Racine and the Downtown Racine Corporation are hosting free outdoor World Series watch parties at Monument Square, giving Racine fans a downtown option instead of driving to Milwaukee. Two 20-foot screens and audio equipment will show the games, which are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Local vendors will handle the food. La Taquiza Guadalajara will bring its food truck, serving tacos, burritos and quesadillas along with gameday specials including a birria smashburger and birria egg rolls, chef Alejandro Davalos said.

Busias XOXO will sell sweet baseball-themed treats. Amy Valukas and her daughter Ally Hintz prepared custom orders and extras, including a cookie mini-pack shaped with a baseball, a bat and a small field.

Additional vendors will include Don Arepas Cafe, TBirds Wings and Noir Pizza. Organizers noted that thousands of people turned out for a similar Monument Square watch party when the Bucks won the national championship.

Some chairs will be provided at Monument Square, and attendees are also encouraged to bring their own chairs and dress for the weather. The event is free to attend.
