Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs will be removed from the Commissioner Exempt List on Monday, Oct. 19, the NFL announced on Friday, Oct. 16.
The move makes Jacobs eligible to return to practice next week and to play in the Packers' game at Detroit on Oct. 25. He will miss Sunday's game against Dallas, bringing his total to six games missed while on the list, where he has been since Aug. 30.
Jacobs was placed on the list after his May arrest in Hobart. On Sept. 10 he pleaded no contest in Brown County to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property and was fined $1,000 plus court costs on the battery count.
The league said its investigation under the Personal Conduct Policy, opened after the May arrest, is still ongoing and is not affected by the change in Jacobs' roster status. That means further discipline remains possible.
Separately, Jacobs and the woman involved in the May incident each filed lawsuits on Oct. 14 seeking to block the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department from releasing records and garage video from the case, a legal fight that remains pending.
