A longtime Eau Claire restaurant is selling one of its best-known recipes to take home. Olympic Flame Greek Restaurant is now offering its tzatziki sauce in 12-ounce bottles for $5.99.

The bottled sauce is sold at the restaurant, at 2920 London Road, and at the Hy-Vee store at 2424 East Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire. Owner Tasha Moen said the sauce has needed to be restocked multiple times in its first couple of weeks on sale at the grocery store.

Olympic Flame was opened in 1980 by Lampros Pentanitis, who immigrated from Greece. Moen, his niece, bought the restaurant from him in October 2019 so he could retire, and she has owned it for about seven years.

Moen said bottling the sauce had been a goal since she took over. The tzatziki uses the recipe Pentanitis handed down to her when she purchased the business.

The restaurant has operated in Eau Claire for more than 40 years. Pentanitis once described Greek food as a hard sell in Eau Claire when the restaurant first opened, but Olympic Flame has since become a local staple.
