Morley Custom Golf in Eau Claire has new owners from the same family. Eric Morley and his wife Kati took over the business in January 2026 from Eric's father, Dave Morley, who opened it in 2005.
Dave Morley, a retired Eau Claire and New Auburn educator, built the business largely by word of mouth over more than two decades. Its stated mission is that golf should not be a luxury, with a focus on making the sport more accessible and affordable.
The shop offers lessons for golfers of all ages and abilities, sells new and used clubs, and provides club repair services. Eric Morley is a certified member of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America and also teaches at area outdoor courses.
The change in ownership followed a career change for Eric, who had recently lost his own job of about two decades in information technology. He and Kati decided he should take over the golf business, an idea Dave and his wife Janna had also been considering.
Since taking over, Eric and Kati have added an indoor golf simulator at the shop, located at Banbury Place in Eau Claire, and say bookings for fall and winter are already filling. Dave continues to work with Eric regularly, passing along the building and repair techniques he learned over the years.
