A teenager charged in the drowning death of a 13-year-old Marinette boy has reached a plea agreement in the case, according to court records.
Peyton Carnot, 17, is expected to enter a no-contest plea to second-degree reckless homicide in the death of Jakob Bowerman, who drowned after an incident at a Marinette pier in August 2025.
Under the agreement, prosecutors would recommend seven years in prison followed by ten years of extended supervision. A judge must still accept the plea and is not required to follow that recommendation.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.
The case against co-defendant Tylor Birch remains pending after a competency issue was raised. His next status conference is scheduled for November.
