Marathon finished its last match before the playoffs with a 3-0 sweep of Rib Lake on senior night.
The win came against the team that currently holds the Division 5 state title, giving the Red Raiders a notable result heading into the postseason.
Rib Lake stayed close early. A kill from junior Madelyn Anderson brought her team within 9-7, before Marathon's Katelyn Love answered with kills from the outside and the middle to make it 14-11.
Freshman Olivia Lucia pulled Rib Lake within 16-14 with a kill from the right side, but Marathon pulled away again behind a kill down the line from freshman Maddy Jansen and a block from Love.
Marathon closed out the match in straight sets to complete the sweep.
