La-Z-Boy has opened a new furniture store in La Crosse along Highway 16, near Valley View Mall and the Barnes & Noble store.
The La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 21.
The store stands on land that was previously used as parking for the mall property. Valley View Mall has operated at the site since 1980.
Inside, the store offers design help for shoppers, including staff who build 2-D and 3-D models so customers can plan how furnishings will fit in their homes.
The opening adds to a recent cluster of new businesses built on the mall grounds, which also includes a restaurant, a car wash and a coffee shop, as redevelopment around the mall continues.
