Kenosha police say Michael O'Neal Fleming, 33, was taken into custody in Chicago with help from the U.S. Marshals Service after an extensive search.

Officers conducting a welfare check on Monday, Oct. 19, at a home in the 5500 block of Washington Road found Rodney Brushwood, 57, and Rena O'Neal, 59, dead inside. Police said both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. O'Neal was Fleming's mother and Brushwood was his stepfather.

Fleming is also charged with first-degree murder in Seattle, where prosecutors say he shot Graeme Dobbeck, 36, on Oct. 13. Dobbeck worked at a Seattle gas station where Fleming had previously been employed. Charging documents say surveillance footage shows the shooter walking behind the counter and firing at least four times, with no apparent argument before the shooting.

Seattle prosecutors say firearm licensing records indicate Fleming owns at least 44 handguns, and they requested $5 million bail in the Washington case.

Fleming has not been charged in connection with the Kenosha deaths. Kenosha police said Seattle authorities will be allowed to extradite him first on their murder warrant, and that pursuing charges in Wisconsin could take several weeks.

The Kenosha double homicide investigation remains ongoing.
