Holmen sophomore Carter Sinn won the Mississippi Valley Conference boys cross country race on Thursday at Maple Grove Venues in West Salem, finishing in a school-record 16 minutes, 1.9 seconds.
Sinn said he welcomed the rainy conditions and made his move around the two-mile mark, pulling away from a lead pack that included teammates and Logan runners.
Senior Matthew Hoff finished second for Holmen in 16:06.1. Hudson Moss was sixth and Casey Horman seventh, giving the Vikings four runners in the top seven, and Tyler Mossman added a 10th-place finish.
Holmen won the team title with 26 points, well ahead of second-place Logan at 48. It is the Vikings' third straight MVC team championship.
Logan was led by Gabe Passe in third place, with Dylan Belby fifth and Quinn Passe eighth. Central finished fourth as a team, followed by Sparta, Onalaska and Aquinas.
