Marshfield quarterback Ethan Foemmel had one of his strongest games of the season on Friday, completing 25 of 35 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.
It was not enough to beat No. 3 New Richmond. The visiting Tigers won 49-28 in the last game of Marshfield's regular season.
New Richmond did its damage on the ground. Austyn Wittek carried 26 times for 268 yards and five rushing touchdowns, and quarterback Preston Hidde added two more scores running the ball. As a team, New Richmond ran for 422 yards.
Foemmel spread his touchdown passes to four different receivers. Cam Kolstad led Marshfield with eight catches for 111 yards and a score, while Gavin Larsen and Landen Trubee also caught touchdown passes and Josh Taylor added a short scoring catch. Marshfield's own running game managed only 46 yards on 20 carries.
Marshfield ends the regular season with a 6-3 record. New Richmond finishes 9-0 and heads into the playoffs unbeaten.
