The Eau Claire City Council passed a resolution on Tuesday night signaling support for the local election process, WEAU reported on Oct. 15.

The resolution affirms trust in the city clerk, chief poll inspectors and poll workers. It also pledges to ensure local voters can cast ballots and have them counted under state law.

Council members Clara Serrano and Joshua Miller brought the measure forward. Serrano said the aim was to reassure voters about trust in election staff, including the city clerk and the county clerk, who also plays a role in Eau Claire elections.

Serrano said part of what prompted the resolution was the number of residents reaching out to her with concerns about election security.
