Nearly 40,000 Wisconsin students have received Direct Admit Wisconsin letters in recent weeks, including more than 15,000 in the Milwaukee area and across southeastern Wisconsin, the Universities of Wisconsin said.

The letters include students in Milwaukee Public Schools and the Racine Unified School District. Leaders from those districts joined officials from UW-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater and UW-Platteville to urge families to review the offers.

Under the program, qualified students entering their senior year are admitted automatically to participating UW universities based on grade point average and coursework. No separate application is required for that admission decision.

Admission alone does not finish the process. Students are asked to complete a Direct Admit form through the UW admissions portal to connect with the campuses that admitted them for fall 2027. Submitting the form does not commit a student to attend.

UW-Milwaukee officials said completing the form can also open access to merit scholarship consideration, financial aid and campus housing reservation.
