Columbus Catholic Schools in Marshfield has a new president. Peter Weiss began in the role on Monday, Oct. 19.
Weiss arrives from the Diocese of Green Bay. School officials pointed to his background in Catholic education, along with work in strategic planning and social justice.
He takes over from Thomas Reichenbacher, who had served as interim president. Reichenbacher also works as superintendent of Catholic schools for the Diocese of La Crosse.
The change in leadership comes after the school system renewed its accreditation during the 2025-26 school year. Reviewers praised the system for its Catholic identity and its academic programs.
Weiss was set to meet faculty and staff on his first day. Families and community members will also have chances to meet him at parent-teacher conferences and at athletic events over the next few weeks.
Columbus Catholic Schools educates students from preschool through 12th grade in Marshfield, at St. John the Baptist Primary School, Our Lady of Peace Intermediate School and Columbus Catholic Middle and High Schools. The system is part of the Diocese of La Crosse.
