Residents in the Chippewa Valley joined a fourth round of nationwide No Kings rallies over the weekend, with events in both Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.
The local rallies, organized by Chippewa Valley Indivisible, were held at Owen Park in Eau Claire and at the Peace Circle in downtown Chippewa Falls on Saturday. Organizers estimated crowds of about 1,500 in Eau Claire and about 450 in Chippewa Falls.
Organizer Cyndi Greening said the focus this time was encouraging people to vote early, beginning Oct. 20, ahead of the midterm elections. She described the group as nonpartisan and said the goal was a large early vote as well as turnout on Election Day.
Earlier rounds of the rallies in the area focused on issues including health care costs, immigration enforcement and tariffs, according to organizers.
