Marshfield's new Chipotle Mexican Grill is expected to open before the end of the year, a company representative confirmed to reporters on Oct. 19.

The 2,371-square-foot restaurant is at 1307 N. Central Ave., in front of the Harbor Freight store in the Marshfield Towne Centre development.

The Marshfield Plan Commission first considered the project on Feb. 17, when Joseph Radach, acting for Milwaukee-based Midland Management LLC, sought a conditional use permit for a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a pickup lane on the city's north side.

The restaurant is being built on 0.67 acres of the former BMO bank property, a parcel totaling 1.89 acres.

Plans call for an outdoor eating area with six tables seating about 20 people, two of them accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Chipotle said more details will be shared as the opening date gets closer.
