Families of children with sensory sensitivities are invited to a free after-hours visit at the Children's Imaginarium in Wausau on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The museum, at 195 N. Second St., will hold its "Fall Into Our Sensory Sensitive Night" from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free for those children and their families, with support from CI Pediatric Therapy Centers.

Staff plan to lower the lighting and reduce noise during the event so families can move through the exhibits at their own pace in a calmer setting.

The evening will also include hands-on activities and seasonal experiences built around fall themes.

Executive director Julie Bollmann said the museum wants every child and family to feel they belong there, and hopes a quieter, more comfortable setting will help families relax, connect and enjoy discovering together.
