The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 on Monday in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series at American Family Field, taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
William Contreras tied the game with a 436-foot home run in the fifth inning, then singled home the go-ahead run an inning later after a Dodgers error put the runner in scoring position.
Los Angeles led three separate times in the first five innings, and Milwaukee answered every time. Christian Yelich lined a two-run single in the third that knocked Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto out of the game after just 2 2/3 innings.
Brewers starter Logan Henderson allowed four runs, two of them earned, over four innings. From there, relievers Dustin May, JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe and Aaron Ashby retired the last 15 Dodgers batters in order. Los Angeles finished with three hits.
Brice Turang and Jake Bauers added RBI singles in the eighth inning to stretch the lead.
The series now shifts to Los Angeles, with Game 3 on Wednesday. Robert Gasser is expected to start for Milwaukee. The Brewers are two wins away from their second World Series appearance, and their first since 1982.
