Boo at the Zoo is back at the Milwaukee County Zoo for two weekends in October, billed by the zoo as a not-so-scary event for families.
Activities include a trick-or-treat trail that runs all day, pumpkin enrichment for animals, light shows, live entertainment and pumpkin-carving demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume.
The first night was Friday, Oct. 16, when hundreds of people came out to see the zoo after dark.
Remaining hours are Friday, Oct. 23 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Saturday hours are longer than in past years, with the event running through the day and into the evening.
Tickets cost $16 to $20 depending on the day and the visitor's age, and they are sold online only through the zoo.
